Abstract

Previous research has been carried out by Fera Sopiana using color recognition for human followers. However, there are weaknesses in this study, namely the surrounding colors are easily detected by the camera so that the trolley can move on its own if the supermarket has the same color as that used by the trolley user, and the control of the trolley which cannot move straight also needs to be improved. Therefore the authors made improvements to previous research to minimize weaknesses related to trolley technology. The use of trolleys is very useful for transporting goods in large quantities. But the more items purchased, the harder it is to push or pull the trolley. To overcome this, automatic trolleys were developed to follow the movement of the user's hand, eliminating the need to push manually. This system uses a camera that can detect hand movements using python and machine learning techniques via mediapipe. This trolley manages to follow hand commands well in a variety of conditions.
